Gawar seeds, also known as Guar or Cluster Bean seeds, are small, oval-shaped, and typically green or brown seeds harvested from the Cyamopsis tetragonoloba plant. They consist of a hull, endosperm, and germ, with the endosperm containing guar gum, a versatile thickening and stabilizing agent used in food, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and particularly the oil and gas industry for hydraulic fracturing. While the green pods are consumed as a vegetable, the seeds themselves are primarily processed to extract the valuable guar gum
